DESIGNED AFTER THE SMOKE HAD CLEARED.
A fire broke out at a castle near Lanškroun, where I was the architect on site. The extinguisher was there — tucked behind a panel, exactly where the interior asked for it to be. I found it. I breathed smoke doing it.
That moment showed me what the industry had overlooked. Amplla is the world-first designer fire extinguisher in shield shape, the first change to the portable extinguisher principle in 200 years. Every improvement before us had been made to the inside of the cylinder. None to the person holding it.
That's where Amplla begins. A flat shield, 91 mm deep, mounted in plain sight. Hand-built in our own workshop in Hlinsko. Nothing hidden.
"I wanted an extinguisher the interior wouldn't ask to hide."
